Your First Visit

Welcome and thank you for choosing Family 1st Dental as your dental health provider.  At Family 1st we pride ourselves on making your experience convenient, comfortable, affordable, and stress free. If at any time you have concerns or questions, please feel free to ask any of our staff or dentists for help!

What should I bring to my first appointment?

  • Insurance Card
  • Identification – ID, Driver’s License, etc.
  • A complete list of current medications
  • Previous dental x-rays (if available)
  • Patient Forms

How early should I arrive to my first appointment?

You should arrive about 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. If for any reason you cannot make your appointment, please call ahead and let us know so you may reschedule at your convenience.

How long should I expect my first appointment to take?

On average your first appointment will last between 60-90 minutes. You will receive a comprehensive and comfortable exam. If you cannot make it to your scheduled appointment, please call ahead to reschedule.

Are teeth cleanings always included at my first visit?

Cleanings may or may not be completed at your first appointment. A comprehensive exam needs to be completed prior to scheduling a cleaning to determine what kind of cleaning is needed.  Not every patient requires the same type of cleaning because not everyone has the same level of oral health. Once your dentist has completed the full exam a cleaning can then be started or scheduled with one of our hygienists. If you have any questions about the different types of In-Office Cleanings please check out the information provided in our In-Office Cleanings tab.

Note: Please ask our knowledgeable staff any questions or concerns you may have. They are there to help you!
